Jacaranda

This rug was made for a lovely lady who was downsizing her house, had lived in Australia and wanted a reminder of her time there when she walked into her new home. She loved the jacaranda trees in their resplendent spring blossom and her taste generally tended towards more abstract colourful imagery. In discussing the commission she had also mentioned the rivers in the part of Australia where she had lived so I added a hint of them into the design, which she liked, and we settled on the runner for her hallway you see here. The colours had to be ordered specially in British Wool and the piece was a joy to make.
