SSSC 23 Things Digital - Thing 11 Twitter

I have been on Twitter for some time but also on other social media platforms too, so I have not got thoroughly to grips with any of them. There’s just not enough time in the day! I did follow several topical accounts when I joined so it has been interesting to scroll through some tweets and feel up to date with the rest of the world.  I mainly use Twitter to post my other work of textile artist creations but have been using ‘Later’ to post to several platforms at once to save me time.  This means I’ve not been concentrating on any one particular platform, or really benefiting from any of my social media efforts either.

I’ve created three lists so far, each for a different area of my life and work and this will be so useful to hone in on what I need to.  I didn’t know about lists until now and Twitter makes much more sense now! Analytics is interesting and I can see spikes where I was posting, and others were posting about me.  Good for catching the attention of followers of followers.  I realise I need to be on there to keep up the momentum but I'm too tired working to be able to do more screen time, at the moment, but that pressure of thinking I have to do social media is always there.

My lists are public, I see, as everything I do as a sole trader I set to public.  Well, not on Pinterest as I work on shared boards on there to collaborate with commissioners on what they want in a rug design, occassionally,so I set this to private.  I suggest Social Service Workers follow and use @mindfulnessA as learning from this group of professionals has enabled me to move on in all sorts of ways and stay calm and patient while doing so.  I have been able to pass on all sorts of tips to people I support, and I absolutely believe that if mindfulness/more self-awareness is possible for a person this is the kindest most thorough way to enable longstanding change and improvement towards better lives. Much better to go to the groups rather than online though.  So much more stuff, learning, comes up when talking informally to people face to face.
